Fences

I enjoyed the scene presentations in class the past two days. It really helps to picture what the scene could have looked like, and it is also is a fun way to discuss what we are reading in class. In act two, scene one Troy tells Rose that he is going to be a father to another woman. Rose obviously in not happy about the news, I dont't think anyone would be in her case. I know if i were in her situation i would want out right away. but it is not that easy for her because she has to think about how much Troy impacts her life. He is the main income in their family, she has spent the last 18 years being loyal to him when she has also seen things she wants but knows she can't have. I feel bad for Rose, and for Cory. Rose is not put in a very diffucult position: stay with the man you have been married to for the past 18 years and have been loyal to, or leave him and make a new life on your own, something not easy for a black women in this time. Cory is also being forced to work instead of play football because of his dad, but now he finds out that his dad was with another women. You can tell that he will want to stick with his mother on this one since she is the one always supporting him, but he has to remember that his father is hte main provider in the family and he is already on strike two. What do you think Rose should do?
