So this week we started reading the Metamorphosis. I was very confused at first. The main character woke up one morning and was a bug? I'm not positive, but I don't think that happens much. And his family is scared of him, except for his sister, who brings him food. I don't think I would be able to do that if I was his sister. My little brother is bad enough as it is. If he were a bug it would be ten times worse.
I don't think it is a bad book so far, it is just hard to follow. I am curious to see what happens with Gregor's job. I wonder if Gregor will remain a bug through the whole book, and if his family will ever except him if he doesn't change.
Good question about whether or not Gregor stays a bug (I know the answer, of course, but I won't spoil the ending). I wonder if Kafka had other possible endings in mind as he was writing this... it might make a good blog post to come up with an alternate ending.
