WAR.
Well, since my last blog was on war, it got me thinking about the different reasons countries have wars with other countries or people have wars with other people, or even with themselves. I'm not one to say that violence is the answer. I think that some authority needs to be shown, but I don't think that killing people gets you anywhere. I think fear is one of the biggest reasons countries go to war. Fear of being taken over, fear of another country being better then themselves. Fear of not having control. But I think people fight or "go to war" because of jealousy. You always want what you can't have and if someone has something you want you will fight over it. It's like when little kids are playing with toys, and one gets a new toy. All of a sudden the other kids want to play with the new toy. It is out of jealousy, spite, that those other kids want to play with that new toy. It may not be any better than the toys they now have, but it is something they don't have. Which makes it better. I don't think fighting really gets you anywhere. Military should be for protection, not for attacking other countries. War in my mind is just stupid. It kills people, not only our people, but innocent people from other countries too. Talk it out. Make friends with other countries, try to reason with them if you have a problem. Don't go blowing them up. What does that get you? A few more countries that are afraid of you, and a few more countries that are going to want the better toy, so they will find something better then what you have and then you will be in fear. All. Over. Again.

You should rule the world! I like your way of thinking. War is just what you say. It is just a competition to be better than another country and have what they don't. War is for the most part pointless, and it ruins people's lives. Yes, I understand that sometimes there is war to overthrow leaders who are killing or injuring their people, but I still don't like the idea of war. We should find a different way...like talking about problems like civilized people.
ReplyDeleteI agree that war is pointless, but like we learned in AP U.S. every generation has it war. Since its beginning, the U.S. seems always ready to pick a fight with itself. I think that many Americans have the mentality that we were born to fight and argue, but this gets us nowhere but to pain and suffering of the innocent. If nations were so corrupt and greedy, including the United States, things could go a lot smoother in the world.
ReplyDeleteWar is never a good thing Ms. Kelly. It is sad to see that war is being depicted as a glorified sporting event almost that we forget all the hardships that war has. We should always keep in mind the real truths to war and the lifelong aftermath it has on people.
